The importance of exercise during pregnancy
So why is exercise extra important during pregnancy? Endurance, strong muscles, and a healthy body are the three main reasons. Your body can handle a lot more when it's fit. Pregnancy does require an amazing amount
of energy from your body. Labor is a physical challenge that you will need to prepare for. Being in fit condition will help prevent backache, fatigue and
other physical problems during pregnancy. There are more reasons to
get into shape, however, these are the most important ones, and must
already convinced you
to get "moving". It does make pregnancy go smoother
than without exercise, there is no doubt about it in our minds.
Exercise Tips
Nothing beats walking and swimming as exercise methods. Major muscle
groups are trained, and it's good for your heart. And both are fun ways
to exercise, or at least that's how we feel about them. Both have only low
risks of injury, unlike some of the other exercises. So we recommend these
two if you want to get into shape and be prepared for labor. Many women
take exercise a lot more serious these days, compared to the past. We know
you want your pregnancy to go smoothly, so we strongly suggest you get
ready for some exercise. Just a few times a week should be enough.
What to avoid
Sports that you should avoid while pregnant are the ones with a danger
of falling. Bungee Jumping is not a smart sport to practice during pregnancy.
But that one isn't exactly surprising, is it? Skating, horseback riding, motor
sports you should definitely avoid at all costs. Don't take unnecessary risks
by performing sports that are just too dangerous while you are pregnant.
It's not worth it! If you are a trained individual then jogging or tennis can
be performed. If in doubt ask for advice from your doctor, or your medical
advisor. Again, swimming and walking are great ways to train the body
and improve your general physical condition. Take your friends for a few miles of hiking in a nearby forest and enjoy the scenery. To us, this is a pleasant
way to relax and get your body in a fit state. The perfect match.
